Wasteland Pitch
Overview
A 3D, third person “walking simulator” set in a nighttime forest. There is a narrative the player follows about moving on when something is difficult – perhaps because it is difficult. They have to wander through the forest, unsure of where they should go, and encounter beings they know and confront memories before the way out will open.
Goal
The player’s goal is to collect all their memories and find acceptance with them.
Gameplay
While wandering, the player will run into NPCs, which influence the music to be more unsettling, their speed will decrease, and they take increments of damage. Once they pass that NPC, they move forward to retrieve a memory of when they were hurt. Once all three have been connected, the path out of the forest will become clear.
Obstacles: Wandering. NPCs that cause frustration/damage.
Mechanics: Look at the moon while in the center to gain health. Acquire memories (collectable).
